Public Safety

With over 30 years in law enforcement and having served as mayor before, Nat knows better than anyone the importance of strong public safety. Mayor Nat Baker will ensure the Horn Lake Police and Fire Departments have the resources, modern equipment, and the competitive compensation packages needed to recruit and retain the best personnel to serve our community
Growing our Economy
As a businessman himself, Nat Baker understands the critical role small businesses play in creating jobs and will work to minimize unnecessary regulations and government interference to ensure Horn Lake is the most business-friendly city in Mississippi. Additionally, he will fight to protect our citizens from mandates that infringe upon civil liberties or harm small businesses.
Protect Taxpayer funds
During his previous terms as mayor, Baker successfully led the city through a period of historic growth, all while maintaining a balanced budget- he I will bring the same effective leadership back to the mayor’s office, ensuring that the growth of Horn Lake does not negatively impact the quality of life for current taxpayers.
- Always balance the budget
- Cut wasteful spending
- Serve effectively with no tax increases
Accessible, Accountable leadership
"I am committed to transparency and accessibility, continuing to operate the city government in an open, accountable manner." -Mayor Nat Baker
- Ensure meetings are streamed for easier viewing

Smart Growth
While we welcome new growth, we must do so by ensuring that the growth of Horn Lake does not negatively impact the quality of life for current taxpayers.
- Ensure proper infrastructure is in place prior to project development
- Ensure traffic isn't further afflicted by growth
- Ensure new development doesn't address new crime
- Ensure parks and recreation offerings are commensurate with growth to ensure longevity of quality of life
